Privacy Policy

Short version: this site does not ask you for personal data, sets no tracking cookies, and shows no ads. Any image you open in the color tools stays on your device. Ads are planned for later, and this page already says what will change when they arrive.

What this site asks you for

Nothing. There is no account, no login and no newsletter. The only form is the contact form, and it asks for a name, an email address and a message so a reply has somewhere to go. That message is sent to an inbox and is not added to any list.

Your images stay on your device

The image color picker and the palette generator read your file in your own browser using a canvas element. The file is never uploaded. It is never stored on a server and never sent anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone.

This is worth stating plainly because most tools of this kind do upload. This one cannot, because there is nowhere for the file to go.

Advertising

This site does not show ads at the moment. Nothing on any page is an ad, and no advertising cookie is set on your device when you visit.

That is going to change. The site has applied to Google AdSense, and once it is approved and there are enough readers to make it worth doing, ads will start appearing. This section says in advance what will happen then, so nothing about it is a surprise.

When ads are running, Google and its partners will use cookies to choose them and to measure how they perform. Some of those cookies are used to show ads based on what you have looked at before, on this site and on others. You can switch off personalised advertising from Google at any time, on any site, in My Ad Center.

Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the law says a site has to ask before it stores advertising cookies on your device.

Right now there is nothing to ask about. No ads means no advertising cookies, so you are not shown a consent banner. Putting one up today would be asking your permission for something that is not happening.

On the day ads start, a consent message will appear before any advertising cookie is set. It will use a consent management platform certified by Google, which is what the rules require for any site showing AdSense ads in those regions. You will be able to accept, refuse, or open the options and pick which purposes you allow. Refusing will be a real choice: the site will work the same and you will still see ads, just ones chosen from the page you are on rather than from anything about you.

This page will be updated on that day, and the date at the bottom will show it.

Changing your mind

Once the consent message exists, your answer will be stored in your browser so you are not asked on every page. To change it you will clear this site’s cookies in your browser settings and reload. The message will appear again.

Cookies this site sets on its own

None for tracking. The site itself sets no analytics cookie and runs no analytics script. Anything stored in your browser by the color tools, such as a remembered tab, stays in your browser and is never read by anyone.

Server logs

The web host keeps standard access logs. These record the address of the request, the time, and which page was asked for. They exist for security and for diagnosing faults. They are not used to build a picture of you and they are not shared.

Fonts and outside files

The fonts are served from this site’s own server, not from Google Fonts. That means your browser does not make a request to Google in order to render the type. It is a small thing, but it is one fewer company that sees your address just because you read a page here.

Children

This site is a technical reference and is not aimed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what this site does changes, this page changes with it. The date below says when it was last edited.
