What the Target Logo Colors Mean?
The Target logo color is a single red because the bullseye has to work as a shape first. The 1962 mark had three rings; by 1968 it was down to an outer ring and a solid center dot, which is about as reducible as a logo gets. The red is Pantone 186, warm rather than orange, and the brand rarely lets anything else near it.
Target Logo Color History
Target logo color history is a story of subtraction. Three rings in 1962, two by 1968, and since then only small adjustments to the exact red and the gap between ring and dot. Bullseye, the bull terrier mascot, arrived in 1999 and did not change the mark.
Target Logo Fonts
Target logo fonts are a custom sans called Targ, tightly spaced and slightly condensed. Helvetica Neue Bold is the usual substitute.

These are interface steps, not Target paint or trim names.

Brand colors are chosen for recognition, not for legibility. A failing value here is normal. It means use it as a fill, not as text.
